What counts as a serving of grains?

One serving of grains is equal to:

  • 1 slice bread
  • ½ cup cooked rice or pasta
  • 1 ounce dry rice or pasta
  • ½ cup cooked cereal
  • 1 cup ready-to-eat dry cereal

One serving or 1/2 cup of cooked cereal is about the size of a lightbulb.
