Weight loss claim definition

A verbal or written statement about achieving a particular weight loss result with the use of a specific product. For example, ‘Lose 10 pounds in 10 days with Product X’.

Weight loss claims typically promise quick and easy weight loss results and are used in advertisements to sell a weight loss products, programs, supplements or to promote a fad diet.

Weight loss claims usually sound too good to be true, and unfortunately most of them are.
