Abdominal obesity definition

A condition of carrying excess weight around your mid section.

Men with a waist circumference of greater than 40 inches (in.) or 102 centimeters (cm.) and women with a waist circumference of greater than 35 in. or 88 cm. are considered to have abdominal obesity.

Abdominal obesity is one risk factor for metabolic syndrome.
