How much water should I drink each day?

Drink 9-13 glasses of water each day.

The recommended amount of water is different for men and women:


Approximately 100 ounces (oz.)

  • This is about 13 – 8 oz. glasses of water.


Approximately 75 oz.

  • This is about 9 – 8 oz. glasses of water.

These recommendations are for adults who get little physical activity. Your body needs more water when you exercise or live in a hot environment.
