How many servings of vegetables do I need in a day?

This depends on the total number of calories you consume in a day.

  • If you consume 1600 calories, eat 4 servings of vegetables.
  • If you consume 1800 – 2000 calories, eat 5 servings of vegetables.
  • If you consume 2200 – 2400 calories, eat 6 servings of vegetables.
  • If you consume 2600 – 2800 calories, eat 7 servings of vegetables.

1 serving of vegetables is equal to:

  • ½ cup of fresh, frozen or canned vegetables
  • 1 cup of leafy greens (salad)
  • ½ cup of vegetable juice
